Blue cards for the Laurelhach girls today, Mia 2nd in Post Grad Bitch and her half sister 2nd in Limit Bitch.
Mac, (Ludstar Maccabee co-owned with the Johnston family) was also in the blue cards with a 2nd in Post Grad Dog.
Both Faye and Mac are sired by Sh Ch Ludstar Frederick Frankenstein
Delighted to co-pilot McKeena for her breeders, the Johnston family, to win Open Bitch, the CC and then BOB.
With this win she is their first Show Champion (subject to KC) in Gordon Setters.
Equally proud to handle her in the Gundog Group.

This year saw Freddie staying at home as he has now taken semi- retirement but hopefully he may make a few appearances later this year.
Delighted that Mia was placed 3rd in Post Grad Bitch, still some maturing to do but she has plenty of time.
Super chuffed that Faye won a huge Limit Bitch class and like last year was called in to challenge for the RCC against her half sister,
McKenna who won Open Bitch who was awarded it. Well done

VD (4) 1 Boxall & Salamon’s Sh Ch Ludstar Frederick Frankenstein, a lovely class to start with & a chance to judge in the breed one of the greats of the last few years.
Thrilled to have a chance to go over this well known dog & he did not disappoint. You would never guess that this dog is 10 years old, put down in such hard,
fit condition & when he moves with his excellent head carriage & strong topline he just powered round the ring with such presence, drive & attention seeking movement.
He is so balanced with excellent neck & shoulders, lovely hindquarters & tailset.
He set the template for the day & at the end of it, I just could not deny him both the CC & BOB,
beating a bitch who I have admired from a distance for a while.
I couldn’t stay but I am told he was pulled out all the stops & at the end of the day,
won group 4 and then took the veteran group – what a dog & what a chance I had to judge him in his own breed & not just in a group.

October saw a road trip to Scotland with Freddie and Mia.
SKC held a double show in Edinburgh.
(The first that should have been in May and the second in August of this year but postponed due to ongoing covid.)
The next day was Border Union Championship Show held in Kelso.
At all three championship shows Freddie was well placed in Open Dog and was awarded Best Veteran at all three.
Mia also won Puppy Bitch and Best Puppy at both SKC shows followed the next day at Border Union by winning
Minor Puppy, Puppy Bitch and Best Puppy.

Thursday 5th March
Laurelhach Bemm and his owner Will represent Gordon Setters in the Vulnerable Breeds Competition. They are a great team.
Friday 6th March
saw litter brother and sister, Harley and Kyla, placed 2nd in their respective Veteran class, hard to believe they are now 10 years old.
Angus, owned by Sue Gregg was placed 3rd in Good Citizen Dog.
.Other stock sired by Laurelhach boys were placed in numerous classes.
My Remy stayed at home as she was in season, I missed not showing her but always another show.
Freddie's son, Connie Ford's Clyde, was placed 2nd in Open Dog and followed this by winning the RCC.
Freddie's daughter, Paul, Linda & Nicki Johnston's McKenna won Post Grad bitch, delighted to have had the opportunity to handle her again.
I was especially pleased to see Maureen and Flora take the Bitch CC .
However the highlight was Freddie, Sh Ch Ludstar Frederick Frankenstein CC, BOB for the third consecutive year
and then he topped the day by winning Gundog Group 4

Monday - SD&G All Breed Show - Grand Champion Select.

He was short listed in the Gundog Group after which we ran to the Veteran Gundog Group which was waiting for him.
To my delight he was Best Veteran In Group.
And to top it off he was finally awarded Reserve Best Veteran In Show
Kyla won Veteran bitch and was awarded Best Veteran from the two veteran classes.
However she then had to challenge any other veterans from other classes
and the final award for Best Veteran In Breed went to Freddie.
I had the pleasure to handle McKenna, a Kyla x Freddie daughter, to 1st place Post Grad bitch.

Boxall’s Laurelhach Entrapment JW, this young lady caught my eye on entering the ring & did not disappoint on going over. She just oozes quality from the tip of her nose to the end of her tail!
Gorgeous head with correct stop & lovely expression with the darkest of eyes. Long lean neck, correct lay of shoulder, with a level topline.
Has a good depth of chest, deep brisket & good spring of rib. Well muscled quarters, good feet & legs. Colour & tan correct, in good coat & condition.
Very sound & stylish on the move, driving from short hocks. Close up to her mother for the CC but well deserved RCC in good company. Just loved her

Lovely quality class. 1 Boxall’s Sh Ch Laurelhach Legacy JW, one I have judged before as a youngster & my opinion has not changed.
This bitch, like her daughter, just oozes quality & she knows it! Has a feminine head with soft expression, dark eyes & good stop. Long lean, arched neck leading into the best of shoulders.
She has a good depth to her chest & brisket & good spring of rib. Level topline, powerful quarters, correct bend of stifle with short hocks.
Best of feet & legs. Such a stylish but powerful mover, she moved around the ring with power & grace, with correct lashing tail action. Delighted to award her the CC & BOB

where Elton scored 8,9,9,9 and 8,9,8,8 and thus gained his final two legs of his Junior Hunter title.
